Our Favorite Peach Recipes To Savor The Summer Harvest!
August is full of beauty on our South Jersey Farm!
Summer harvest at The Farm On Main brings us so much joy: biting into juicy Jersey peaches, family beekeeping, enjoying fresh farm-grown flowers and herbs, and so much more. We wanted to share two of our favorite warm weather recipes featuring produce from the farm: one from Sunny Rae’s Kitchen (The Farm On Main’s exclusive event catering vendor) and one from Set The Bar Sue (our exclusive bar service vendor). The Grilled Peach and Sweet Ricotta Crostini and our Peach Bourbon Smash are just so delicious… you have to try them! You might find these at a Farm on Main wedding, or you can make them at home. We decided to make a batch for our friends and family with our orchard peaches, fresh basil, and farm honey!
Grilled Peach and Sweet Ricotta Crostini
Cut up a few fresh peaches and sprinkle them with a little bit of sugar and salt. Let them sit for a while, until they start to sweat. After, grill the peaches and let them cool. Then, chop them into small pieces.
Cut a baguette into slices, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and salt. Bake until golden brown. Let cool.
Mix ricotta, a pinch of salt, and a little bit of honey. Spread sweet ricotta mix on cooled, sliced baguette. Top with your prepared, chopped peaches.
Finish with a drizzle of honey and torn, fresh basil!
Peach Bourbon Smash
Add 1 part water, 1 part honey to small saucepan. Heat until honey dissolves to make a thin syrup. Let cool.
Thinly slice a fresh peach. Muddle 4 peach slices with 3 basil leaves in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add 2oz bourbon, 1/2 ounce lemon juice, 1/2 ounce honey syrup, and ice to cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into chilled glasses with ice.
Garnish with peach slices and basil leaves.
